At the ACT Center, we aim to provide FREE care to all Mississippians interested in quitting tobacco. Our Licensed Professional Counselors all have certifications as Tobacco Treatment Specialists to be able to provide the highest-level care. The visits are best when done in person, but telehealth services are available.
A tobacco treatment specialist will gather key information needed to ensure we are able to arm you with the tools and resources needed to quit tobacco for good. Although we will ask extensive questions about your tobacco history, we also want to be listening in order to be the best resource we can be.
You will continue to meet with the same counselor seen during your initial visit. Each session takes approximately thirty minutes. The visits consist of developing coping strategies, reducing barriers, and developing a plan that will give you the highest chance of permanently quitting. This may also include a medication plan consisting of nicotine replacement therapy (patch, gum, lozenge), Chantix, or Wellbutrin.
Quitters win. ACT now.
